The roots of modern-day dentistry go back to 7000BC
Fast forward through time and many iterations, and we now have a service that we recognise as vital to health and wellbeing in communities across the globe.
At Lichfield Family Dental Surgery, we’re no different. We’ve been serving our patients within the community since Dr Vicki Hunter acquired the practice in 2014. Since then, we’ve been privileged to treat individuals, young couples, and whole families in Lichfield and the surrounding areas.
As we consider our future and the growing needs of our patients, we recognise the importance of creating a calmer, more relaxed environment to receive treatment.
With this in mind, we have exciting plans to share with our community.
Our plans begin with a change of name
For the past 11 years, we have been known as the Lichfield Family Dental Surgery. We’re so proud of our town, but as we move into our new era as a practice, we’ve decided to give a special nod to the heritage of our locality, namely Beacon Park.

Our aim is to completely redevelop the entire site. We face certain complexities by working within an older building, and we’re keen to respect the local heritage of Beacon Park.
This means that we’ll be taking our time and, with the large scope of the works, aiming to complete by the summer of 2026.
Why is the renovation so important?
Our aim is to create an environment to ensure that a trip to the dentist is as stress free and relaxed as possible. We prioritise excellent patient care, respect complex needs, and improve your overall experience. Our fresh new look will be a welcome change, creating a brighter, more welcoming atmosphere, as well as an upgrade to some of our facilities.
We hope that you’ll be patient with us as we now use the time to focus on our rebrand, attracting new patients, and planning our exciting renovation. After all, good things come to those who wait, and incredible transformations take time.
Where do we go from here?
In this initial phase, Vicki and the practice team want to make sure that they are offering an outstanding level of care to all our patients. We’re also keen to improve patient experience in other ways, by introducing a new website, and a new online booking system. And as an additional measure, we want to concentrate on the exciting new partnerships that we can form with local businesses, schools, and residents.
We look forward to this new era of our practice here on Beacon Street, and hope to welcome as many of our friends, neighbours, and existing patients to celebrate these exciting changes with us.
